I had an interesting thought, we assign ourselves spots;

Even though officially, they’re not our spots;

For example, in bed, I sleep on the right,

Whenever I go to sleep at night.

But no one told me to sleep on that side.

Just a force of habit that my mind abides.

And during dinner, I use the same chair,

Though no one told me to sit right there;

It’s just my place, with silverware.;

Parking seems to be assigned as well,

Though how we choose spots, I cannot tell.

At work I park, in the same place,

From the office about 10 feet away.

And when I finish my work each day;

I park in the center of my driveway.

In college days, I recall that;

it was usually the same place where I sat;

in the lecture hall, close to the back;

Yes it’s really an interesting thing;

Why in the same places, we choose to be;

It merits a college study.
